Cup by cup - motivational yerba story
Aloha in 2018 Everybody,
Have you ever tried yerba mate tea? In the opinion of many people I know, it's too bitter and doesn't smell good. On the other hand, research shows it consists the whole galaxy of vitamins and minerals and in particular gives us bunch of energy.
Have you ever tried to set New Year's goals? In the opinion of many people in the world it's often bitter to realise them and doesn't feel good if you don't fulfill them at the end.
On the other hand, life shows that if you succeed your plans, you will live better, more ambitious and wiser life. Obviously, they are also great source of positive energy for us and people around.
Imagine yourself crossing the door of a cozy, colorful teahouse. Alone this time, beacause everyone scheduled something and you have got one hour to spend totally on your own.
You take a seat at the most deserted table in the chamber. A light-footed waitress approaches you quickly, leaves the menu and goes away immediately, so you even don't get a look of her face. Doesn't matter now, you've got thirsty and need to order a drink.
Damn, same soft drinks - you conclude - well ... the teahouse - you remind yourself and decide to try the drink of the day - pure yerba mate, whatever it is. You don't wait too long and suddenly a huge cup smiles at you beneath the steam.
You take one sip and obviously burn impatient tongue. No flavours or sensations. An epic start - as always.
After some time, you try again. It feels like you lost your dough again.
So bitter, so strange, demanding in sipping, imperfect, unsure.
You are very reluctant to drink the rest, but you are thirsty, right? So you take the chance and cup by cup win with the yerba. At the end, you notice, it doesn't appear so awful. You even sense a soft tingle in your feet.
Suddenly a small cookie glances at you, hidden behind the cup all this time. Smiles of the people you love, little gifts, kind words, spontaneous ideas - God, you see all of them in this tiny cookie.
You eat it eventually, it takes just a second but you see now how happy human you are. Somehow your tiredness has been drifting off and you are getting more and more awake.
Is this the yerba? Or maybe it's just You again?

After first week of the New Year, I really understand how overwhelming it may become to start again and get down to work and non-Christmas reality. And despite that there are so many of things to do and goals to achieve, and most of which I created very challenging, I cannot help now but smile like crazy.
Surely I'll get tired again and suffer from sleepless nights and look for free time desperately. Still, if it weren't for my work, my goals, I would end up on 31st December as an unhappy couch potato. I wouldn't develop, I wouldn't meet amazing people, I would oversleep whole year of my life? What a dramatic perspective.
Mind you, mind me - I'm healthy, I have got real family and true friends, I had rest on Christmas, I set up goals I can achieve and they are to motivate me. It is gonna be such a good year.
Cup by cup, I will taste it, in every sense, in every colour and texture, to recollect it once with a smile.
Varied, unsure, but still worth a thousand sips.
Would you like to have your own drink? I guess it's very unique.
